Effective herb for poison ivy

I have been weeding in my gardens and am coming across poison ivy here and there.   What I do is first:  wash what ever area has been exposed to poison ivy.  Next I take Rhus tox homeopathic pellets.  Then I turn to Jewelweed (Impatiens capensis).   This flowering herb blooms in the late spring to early fall.   Jewelweed can usually be found growing next to poison ivy and is easily identified by the pretty little orange flower and the thick, juicy stalk.  The stalk is juicy and the best part to use for poison ivy.  Take the stalk and break it open and smear the gel like goo all over the spot exposed.   If you have a breakout of poison ivy, jewelweed will take away the itch and heal the outbreak.
